You know when you see peace protests in CINCINNATI of all places, something's going on.
The Riots...truly old news, but kept up for posterity. We
had days of curfew, and a travel advisory posted about us in the UK...it's worth remembering.
Well, the "most livable city in America" has finally been shown to have
some serious underlying problems. As most of us have known all along.
The disturbing thing about this whole scene is how the city leaders are determined
to play dumb in order to try to save their own necks.
Let's face it; anyone who has ever been in downtown Cincinnati knows that
the Over the Rhine area has been a demilitarized "no-man's land" for at
LEAST 10 years, probably 30, maybe even 100.
We had a warning in the form of the police overreaction to a bunch of white
college students at the TABD protest...really, WHO is surprised to hear that
Cincinnati cops are having race-relations issues?
In the same light though, if I hear one more looter talk about how beating
and stealing from innocents is justified, I am going to scream.
"Cincinnati is a very conservative city. In any city this conservative, the
left has no voice. Eventually this kind of thing is inevitable."

''We have to start taking matters into our own hands! We need to take this
(expletive) city down! I'm getting tired of getting up every morning and
finding out someone else I knew has been murdered by the police! Then
they send you and the ministers down here to try to talk to us! ...
They are trying to hide the fact that they are killing us!''
-Larry Brewton,
''It's been really tough down here for us to deal with this. We certainly can't
do this all by ourselves...I think you can help us try to develop some
relationships and regain trust lost over the last few days. Once we get things
calmed down, we can start talking again. I'm here asking for your help. In
fact, I'm begging for your help.''
